Texture Removal, Repair & Installation.
Popcorn removal, texturing and painting.
This relatively small kitchen area had popcorn texture together with drywall damage as a result of a roof leak. Normally you can repair the drywall and spray popcorn to match existing texture, but this time the owner’s choice was to remove popcorn and apply skip trowel texture.
Garage ceiling popcorn removal and texturing.
In my opinion one of the worst things about popcorn (aside from its ability to collect and retain dust) is that without proper maintenance this texture tends to give you the popcorn snowfall effect. Proper maintenance will keep this from happening by spraying not rolling a coat of paint every 3-5 years because when old texture gets loose even light pressure is enough to pull it off the ceiling. Here popcorn is removed from the ceiling and retextured with a hand applied skip trowel texture.
Popcorn removal and masking off.
Masking off is a crucial part of popcorn removal job. Everything has to be covered properly in order to keep surfaces clean especially when it comes to wallpaper. It is equally important not to damage the ceiling drywall when removing popcorn texture. Wet drywall is very fragile, an awkward movement is enough to rip the paper or gash the surface. Even though it is possible to repair the drywall, it’s always better to avoid unnecessary hardships and repairs.
Ceiling texture.
Textured ceilings are popular and are a great way to hide ceiling imperfections that are also very popular here in South Florida.
